In this excellent reminder after Taraweeh prayer Ustadh Abu Humayd reminded those present of the blessed time that we are in, how quickly the first half of the month has passed and the importance of taking advantage of that which remains. He brought Ayaat from the Book of Allaah as well as Ahadith from the Messenger of Allaah Alayhis Salaatu Was Salaam to indicate that the fasting came in stages and didn’t become an obligation all at once. Likewise, he reminded us of the importance of preserving our tongues from foul speech as fasting doesn’t simply mean we abstain from eating and drinking alone.

He concluded the kalimah with the hadith of Abu Hurayrah RadhiAllaahu Anhu in which the Prophet Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam ascended the minbar and said Aameen 3 times. Upon being asked why he said so, one of the reasons was that Jibreel made dua against the one who is not forgiven in Ramadan to become distant from Allaah’s mercy, to which the Prophet replied Aameen.

For these benefits and more, listen to the rest of this short reminder in shaa Allaah. JazaakumAllaahu khairan.
