Summary: In this lecture, Abu Iyaad goes through a khutbah (sermon) given by Shaykh Saalih Al Fawzaan, which was titled ‘Hastening to do righteous deeds before death’. The Shaykh mentioned seven things to do before death.
Notes: Abu Iyaad conveyed that the first thing Shaykh Fawzaan reminded with in this khutbah, is to have taqwa (fear) of Allah, as is frequently mentioned in the Quran. The Shaykh then goes on to mention that one definition of taqwa is to shield oneself and place a barrier between oneself and the punishment of Allah. Another definition is to avoid all major and minor sins. The Shaykh then mentions more definitions of Taqwa from the understanding of the Sahabah and the Tabi’een.
The Shaykh reminded the listeners that everybody’s days are numbered and that the opportunities we have will always pass you by. Whether you will be happy or wretched in this life will depend on one thing- What you did in the days that Allah put you on earth for.
The Shaykh then mentions seven things that every individual must hasten towards before death. Tune in to find out more!
