Flee to Allāh, a khuṭbah by Ustādh Rayaan Barker (hafidhahullāh)
- The verse “So flee to Allāh”: the command, and the two kinds of people, those who flee to Allāh and those who flee from Him
- Fleeing to Allāh requires knowing Him through the Qurʾān, the Sunnah, His Names and Attributes, and not fleeing to graves, idols or magicians
- Knowing what to flee from (all sin, false belief and sinful speech) and the path, with Ibn ʿAbbās: flee from Allāh to Allāh by being firm upon His obedience
- Allāh does not burden us beyond our ability, so we should not tell ourselves we are unable to pray or avoid sin
- Knowing where the path leads, Paradise and safety from the punishment, and remembering death, the destroyer of pleasures
- Race to forgiveness and Paradise with repentance and good deeds; whoever truly fears Allāh flees to Him
