Looking Forward To Ramaḍān, a Jumuʿah khuṭbah by Ustādh Rayaan Barker (hafidhahullāh)
- Ramaḍān is approaching, so start preparing and looking forward to it
- Fasting Ramaḍān is a pillar of Islām and an obligation Allāh loves; Sūrat al-Baqarah 2:183 prescribes it so that we attain taqwā
- Actions with taqwā, sincerity and following the Prophet ﷺ are accepted, and Ramaḍān is the time to build taqwā
- Fasting has unlimited reward (ḥadīth qudsī: “it is for Me and I reward it”), for leaving desires, food and drink for Allāh’s sake
- Laylat al-Qadr and the revelation of the Qurʾān in this month
- Forgiveness: previous sins are forgiven for whoever fasts and prays in Ramaḍān with īmān and seeking reward
- The shayāṭīn are chained, doing good is easier, and Muslims recite more Qurʾān, give more and are kinder to one another
- Prepare now through learning about the month, mental preparation and reciting the Qurʾān
Recorded at Masjid al-Furqān, Stoke-on-Trent on 29/3/19
